The thing that attracted me to yoga in the first place was the research findings on yoga and effects on mental health. What was a great motivator and key to my actually getting started was the low start up costs.Although at the time I started this, I had small children at home, and needless to say a tight budget, I could still afford a mat that costs less than $15.00 to begin . And a couple of yoga outfits. We will be reviewing some other standard yoga gear as well.

Unlike many other programs which may require buying dvd’s, work out atire, or machines that can cost as much as a small car depending on how what type of machine. I could start yoga in my living room with a couple of books, or a DVD.

I could start and learn yoga in my own home with no one there to see and of coarse that squashed the insecurity factor.

I was overjoyed with that prospect. What woman doesn’t love to save money? I practiced yoga just the way I am sharing with you right now for about 6 months before I could actually tear myself away for my first official yoga class.

By the time I attended my first class, I felt like an old pro. I had built up some confidence in my basic knowledge of yoga and the poses. I had managed to perfect enough poses, that I didn’t have much discomfort in my first class.

The one thing I did invest in before attending my second class. Was a yoga mat. The first class I used the provided mats and it was hard for me to relax into the poses no knowing when the mat had been cleaned last.

As I mentioned my major concerns were what motivated me to purchase my own mat were sweat and bacteria that can grow witn them. Now I didnt styart with the Manduka PROlite mat I started with just your basic yoga mat that cost less that $30.00. I didnt spring for the PROlite mat until I knew I was committed to yoga
